Power Washing: Mechanical Force

Power washing relies on high water pressure to physically blast away dirt, algae, and grime. It's effective on hard, durable surfaces like concrete driveways, brick walkways, and paver patios, which can handle that level of force without damage.

Soft Washing: Chemical Treatment, Low Pressure

Soft washing uses a cleaning solution to do the actual work of killing algae, mold, and mildew at the root, followed by a low-pressure rinse to wash away the residue. This matters on surfaces like roofs and vinyl siding, which can crack, lift, or let water intrude behind panels under high pressure.

Why the Root-Level Kill Matters

High pressure alone can blast away visible growth but leave the roots intact, which is why power-washed roofs sometimes look clean for a few months and then regrow the same staining. Soft washing's chemical treatment addresses that root growth directly, which is part of why results tend to last longer on the surfaces it's suited for.
